Aanii Kina Waya!
My name is Cyndil Corbiere (Niiwaatin Niibi Kwe – Calm Water Woman). My home is M’Chigeeng First Nation, and I’m grateful to now live in the beautiful Whitefish River First Nation community. I’ve been a Registered Early Childhood Educator for six years here at Maamwe Kendaasing Early Learning & Innovation Center, and earlier this year I proudly stepped into my new role as Childcare Supervisor.
This past year has been full of exciting moments!
May 30, 2025: We celebrated our annual Shawanosowe School/Maamwe Kendaasing Pow Wow, a vibrant day of culture, music, and community.

July 16–18, 2025: Our team attended the All Nations Childcare Gathering in Sudbury, hosted by the Kenjgewin Teg team from M’Chigeeng. We were honoured to be chosen as one of the day care site visits, welcoming over 100+ educators from across Ontario to tour our daycare and land-based learning areas. Our educators shone as they shared their classrooms and stories.

Summer 2025 – We ran full, fun-filled programs for Preschool, Toddler, and School Age groups.
August 14, 2025 – We wrapped up summer with our Graduation & End-of-Summer Celebration, cheering on our three wonderful preschool graduates before enjoying a morning of bouncy castles, treats, and laughter.

Now, as we step into fall, we’re excited to continue creating meaningful learning experiences and new memories with our children, families, and community.
Until next time – baamaapii!
